Matt is a chemical engineer by training, holding both a bachelor’s degree and doctorate in the field. Rather than pursuing a traditional laboratory career, he focused on developing simulations and computational models to tackle complex problems in chemistry and materials science.

His professional career spans multiple industries, including more than a decade in oil and gas and, most recently, a decade in healthcare technology. He served as Principal Architect at Protenus, a successful Baltimore-based startup, where he led the development of artificial intelligence systems designed to detect patient privacy breaches in medical records.

Matt currently works as a Principal Data Engineer at Alivia Analytics, specializing in the use of data and technology to detect fraud, waste, and abuse in the healthcare industry.
